IDA B. Wellz -Civil Right Activist and Journalist
Strange Fruit Watch was born out of alarm and sorrow at a disturbing pattern: Black American men and women mysteriously unaliving, disappearing, or being found under suspicious circumstances across the country. These tragedies echo the racial terror of the past, reminding us of the haunting images that inspired Billie Holiday’s song Strange Fruit and the tireless anti-lynching investigations of Ida B. Wells. We cannot allow history to repeat itself in silence.
This platform is both a memorial and a watchdog. It exists to gather and publicize information about cases, to provide updates that might otherwise be buried or ignored, and to ensure that every life lost is acknowledged with dignity and truth. Strange Fruit Watch calls on our community to remain vigilant, to share what they know, and to honor the legacy of those who fought before us by demanding transparency and justice. We are the eyes that will not look away, the voices that will not be silenced, and the witnesses who ensure that every story is seen and remembered.
